Bay Breeze Inn consistently receives negative feedback regarding its location, safety, and cleanliness. Recent reviews highlight issues with rude staff, security deposit delays, and unsanitary conditions, including hair and bodily fluids in rooms. While some guests appreciate the affordability and the occasional positive experiences with staff, the overarching sentiment is strongly negative.
Customer service was very rude and lacked basic courtesy and professionalism. Guests are essentially left on their own, with little to no assistance from the staff. Additionally, the hotel does not return security deposits promptly, unlike many other hotels that process refunds much more quickly. Based on my experience, I will not stay at this hotel again, and I would not recommend it to others.
Im not understanding how in the world this location is getting any good reviews. They have to be fake reviews. This is the worst location i've ever stayed at. There's homeless and abandoned cars everywhere it's extremely unsafe. If you like a nice, quiet, nice sleep, don't book this hotel. It's right by the freeway. The rooms are also smaller than the average hotels I usually book.
I was very happy with the extreme cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom, it was spotless. The parking area is contained within fences and well-lit which made me feel safe. The A/C worked very well and it was a very comfortable stay!! he mini fridge worked well and so did the microwave. As far as I remember it was a quiet hotel. The room was an excellent price and we really enjoyed the one night we stayed.
I can’t hold this place accountable for the location of the motel. Located in between four or five off ramps, freeway entrances and an industrial road that is easy to get lost on, this Motel makes up for it with the cleanliness of a Marriot and the design of a modern Hilton. The bathroom shower features tile floor, a step in shower, and the comfy King size bed was adorned with a dark blue and black comforter. The grounds of the motel itself were well maintained and nothing in the room felt out of place. Definitely worth the value of $74 a night which is what I paid. It was also surprisingly quiet with the exception of the train whistle at 9am. I’d come back to stay in the future.
We needed a last minute stay after a cancelled flight and this popped up as the highest rating on Booking.com. We arrived under the cover of night so didn’t get much sense of the surrounding area but the vibe was to stay in your room. Service was very kind checking us in and went smoothly enough. The room (s) however were a different story. We set our bags down, I notice dust on the surfaces and dirt along the floor but I wouldn’t bat an eye generally for a cheap one night stay. Then I pull back the sheets, many long black hairs, no panic, mildly skeeved out, I call the front desk to request new sheets. I’ve stayed in my fair share of motel 6’s and the like, I can make this work. I am told they have no sheets, I need to wait for the supervisor in the morning. I send my partner to the front desk, they check multiple other rooms and finally find us one that appears cleaner (no visible hair on bed). We’re thrilled! The man at the front desk was very apologetic and wonderfully helpful. After I have wrapped myself in a weighted blanket of multi screen disassociation, I am about ready to tuck in. I go to wash my face, the hand towel has apparent blood stains. No matter! I go for the wash clothes, they are embedded with what I can only hope are short curly beard hairs. Okay, no face washing, not a problem! We just need to sleep and leave in the morning. I get into bed, pull up the covers, feel something tickling my toe. I extract said toe from said covers, to my waning surprise a large clump of black hair is attached to my toe! What fun! I jump from the bed to inspect further, I pull the sheet back (a single ply flat sheet draped over a mattress cover) to find the mattress cover is comprised mostly of the same big clumps of black hair! Again, what fun! Somehow in sleep deprived stupor we push past this and do begin to fall asleep, when to our surprise someone begins a game of baseball played solely between what I can only assume were 30-40 metal pipes and the side of a truck. The game goes on for a measly 45-60 minutes. Checkout easy enough, save for the third we didn’t know had slept with us, a robust toe nail trimming (no, unfortunately we did not trim our toes during our stay). All this to say, although the service was lovely, we would have been better off sleeping face down on the airport floor.
I had a wonderful stay and i had happier with the experience. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The staff/host was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location was convenient and peaceful, perfect for relaxing while still being close to everything I needed. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone and would happily stay here again.
This is a Great place to stay. My family was displaced for a time and landed us here unexpectedly. We were able to continue daily work school schedules and rest our heads in a clean we'll kept absolutely affordable place. I have recommended to all that travel this way.
Easy check in, clean room and plenty of parking. The manager was very gracious to authorize a refund of my second night after I realized that the motel was too far from my son's new apt. I had traveled to town to assist him in getting his new place set up.
If you are traveling with kids, DO NOT even think of staying here. The area is not safe at all. It is ranked as one of the most dangerous parts or Oakland. There is a massive homeless encampment a few blocks away. With that said, my experience here was a bit messy. First, I booked the room and arrived at the motel to a very nasty guy working behind the glass. Told him I had a reservation and he said he couldn't find me in the system. I even showed him proof and the price was $79 and some change. He takes my ID, and does what appears to be a search of the system. He said, "Not in there, but I can get you a room for $150." Been around long enough to know he was trying to swindle me. Then he says, "I get you a really nice room!" I told him I paid for a room, and he tosses my ID under the banker looking window and tells me to wait an hour, cuz their system was slow. I should have left right then and there, but I refuse to let that slip. I wait an hour outside and witness some very questionable people in and out of this place. The smell of weed was like standing next to Snoop Dog smoking 7 joints. I go back inside and a lady approaches the window. I tell her I have a reservation and she proceeds to look it up, gather the payment method, and gets me a room right away. The guy wearing the turban walked into the office and gave me a nasty look. I get in my room and settle in. Its not bad, but its also not great. What would you expect for $79? The Air Conditioner was making weird noises, and the room itself smelled kinda funky. I did a bed bug check and can shockingly confirm there are no bed bugs in the room I stayed in. The bed? Its like sleeping on a rock, and the pillows are small and uncomfortable. I closed my eyes to fall asleep, and the noise from the freeway was loud. I turned the weird sounding AC up in hopes of drowning out the noise of the freeway, but the sounds from the AC had me worrying it might explode! ? I finally fell asleep after God only knows how long, maybe 2 hours. My alarm went off and I was up and out of there with a quickness. Got an Uber and waited outside for a bit. There is nothing around that place. I saw a gas station about 1/4 of a mile away, but there is no way to safely get there. I just wanted coffee, and that wasn't happening. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. While walking past the massive homeless encampment, I felt the hair stick up on the back of my neck. The Uber driver told me I was lucky I didnt get robbed or hurt, as he told me the area was notorious for it. Again, if you have children, book another hotel. If you do decide to stay here, be careful with the front desk. The tall guy with the turban is a swindler.
What an amazing experience and a beautiful stay! This spot is the only place we come when we are in Oakland Ca it's run by some incredible people. I was going through so much during my stay and Aj was so kind and humble it was incredible to meet such a wise and kind man! Daisy was also a joy, incredible attention to detail and support for my stay I would give it 10 stars if I could!!
