The Executive Inn & Suites Embarcadero Cove receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the location, friendly staff, and convenient amenities like EV charging stations and water views. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding cleanliness, outdated facilities, and potential security issues. Recent positive experiences highlight excellent customer service and a pleasant bar/restaurant, while more recent reviews indicate persistent problems with the property's condition.
My girlfriend and I needed a cheap place for a night of travel got in late left early, and we don’t feel good about it. I’ve stayed in a bunch of super 8s and roadside motels, and I don’t mind a bargain spot, but nothing was as dirty, dingy, broken, and run down as this place. There are stains on every surface (including the walls) I have low standards for cheap hotels, and this still fell very short. Stains everywhere, bed must’ve been older than me, sticky floors, and beaten up furniture, the thermostat is just hanging off the wall.
Stayed here because of the location. It's nice they have 2 EV charging stations but they're usually taken. I got a king Suite facing the street. The room smells musty and the air conditioning does not work well. I tried to give this place a chance. Not planning to stay here in the future.
The property is outdated and poorly maintained. The hallway carpet was extremely dirty and smelled bad, making the area feel unhygienic. In addition, the night staff was inattentive. I stayed here due to a flight into Oakland, but I would definitely choose a different hotel in the future.
Great place. Everyone has fun in the bar area because the bar manager makes everyone feel like one big family. Such a good time, we took a group picture and it was full of strangers that never met but you wouldn't have known lol. Defense will come back
Checked in late and Kim was so accommodating and friendly! Was able to have a delicious breakfast with vegetarian options, fresh fruit, and a variety of pastries, each morning. There is also a bar with a good selection of beers and wines. The night I arrived in my first night I had some chicken tenders and tots for dinner which were good. The bartender/server there (Alyssa) was also very friendly and the cook was nice and quick too! There are beautiful water views, it is convenient location, and there is a bunch of friendly, helpful staff.
Great time. My girlfriend and I came for a weekend stay in Oakland, and we were pleasantly surprised by how nice and thoughtful the hotel was. We accidentally booked 2 queens so we really appreciate Maria, who hooked us up with an upgrade for a king bed, and an amazing view of the lake (pond?). Such great customer service— we’ll be here again!!
I travel to Oakland on business once or twice a month, and this is my hotel of choice. Wonderful water views abound with rowers training on the water, quiet boats plying the waters, and an occasional jet ski buzzing up and down the estuary. The gentle waters provide a calming atmosphere rarely found in Oakland. It's the perfect location to return to after a solid 10+ hour workday. The staff and management are always professional, helpful, and just plain welcoming (Not sure why others complain about the staff...hmmm, maybe it's not the staff). I digress. The staff are good people who are intent on seeing to it that one enjoys their time spent at this hotel. There is the other side of the hotel that faces the freeway, the train tracks, and BART tracks, and quite honestly, it wasn't bad at all. I was tired, I crashed, and any noise was well-muffled by the walls and windows. I've stayed on that side twice, and it was fine. Sure I prefer the water side of the hotel, but i'm notorious for booking my stays later than I should, and I accept the drawbacks that come with putting things off until the last minute. The breakfast is surprisingly good with breakfast sandwiches (think Egg McMuffin...only better), muffins, yogurt granola bars, instant oatmeal, Hard-boiled eggs, bananas, apples, kiwi, and a selection of cereals. And you have your choice of coffee (Peet's or ?), various teas, and fruit juices. It's more than I ever need, but it's great to have the selection. Finally, the restaurant and bar are now open, and both are fine. The restaurant is a good stop if you aren't in the mood to go out, but instead just want something quick from a small but utilitarian menu. It's as if management realizes that the hotel is not going to be a destination for its food, but thought it might be good to have something for the guests when they just aren't in the mood to go out. The bar has a good selection of beers and some okay and reasonable priced wines that are a nice touch for the end-of-day relaxer. I have enjoyed staying here, and will continue to return. I'm glad they are there. I have always rested well here, and that's important. I recommend you check it out!
This hotel was beautiful, inside and out. Maria at check-in was so lovely and kind. We were randomly selected to have our room upgraded and felt like VIPs! The lobby was lovely. It had comfortable seating, games, books, and Jurassic Park was playing (a major plus in my book). The bar/restaurant was friendly and inviting; we just didn't have time to partake. The parking lot seemed safe, even at night. The room was clean and nice. The beds were very comfortable. The in-room amenities were nice and helpful: a fridge, a microwave, a safe, a blow-dryer, a closet with hangers, a really nice TV, cool lighting options, and a lovely patio with chairs. The view of the water was really beautiful; it was fun to see the ducks swimming around! The chairs and tables they had out under the trees were so cute. The pool and hot tub were both clean and both had great temperature. The lounge chairs were comfortable, and it was so nice to sit out there with a book and watch the water while my son and husband played in the pool. The continental breakfast was delicious and different every day. All in all, it was a 10/10 stay!
The location was great for a business meeting. The view of the water and birds was excellent. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are not updated with stained and damaged flooring. There was quite a bit of external noise pollution from surrounding community activity which would be difficult for light sleepers to tolerate.
Great friendly staff. Quiet place. Clean. Lovely view of the water and Coast Guard Island. We stayed in the suite and loved how large the room is. I don’t remember the blond gal name at the front desk but sure made her day along with 2 other workers at the front desk with some delicious Filipino meals for them to share. Glad you all enjoyed them. Love this place and the staff. I will stay here again and will tell others about this great hotel.
