Its refined interiors reflect a clean, sophisticated aesthetic that caters to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel provides a calm and well-balanced atmosphere, creating a sense of ease and reliability throughout the stay. Guests experience a thoughtful blend of style and functionality that complements the dynamic energy of the Oakland area.
The Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Airport offers convenient access to the airport and BART, with generally positive guest feedback focused on friendly staff and a comfortable stay. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent room amenities, issues with cleanliness and Wi-Fi, and concerns about the surrounding area’s safety and upkeep.
Beds are comfortable, room is spacious. Due to safety I didn’t walk anywhere but hotel is a few km from the airport, there is places where you can go get food, but the hotel has a restaurant so no need to go out. Definitely will be staying again
The lobby makes an immediate impression of cleanliness and calm, putting guests at ease from the moment they arrive, while the staff reinforce that sense of welcome by handling check in with genuine warmth and efficient professionalism. The rooms offer a dependable standard of comfort and a pleasing degree of quiet, reflecting careful upkeep and creating an environment well suited to a full and genuinely restorative night’s sleep. Taken as a whole, the property represents very good value for money, giving guests every reason to recommend it with confidence and to regard the prospect of a return stay as both natural and highly appealing.
I have to take a moment to recognize someone truly special—Rosie. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to accommodate us with such genuine care, kindness, and grace. Her spirit is something you don’t come across every day—it felt like being welcomed by family. I’m calling her my “big sister” now, and that says everything. While the surrounding area may not be the best, don’t let that discourage you—the service inside this hotel completely outweighs it. The moment you walk through the doors, you feel like you’ve stepped into a clean, safe, and welcoming second home. The customer service here is truly top tier. I didn’t dine at the hotel, so I can’t speak to the food, but everything else—from the atmosphere to the service—was exceptional. Rosie, thank you. My husband and I are truly grateful for you and the way you cared for us. You made our stay unforgettable. With appreciation, Bev ?
I booked and paid extra for a room with a balcony, pool view, and a sofa bed. None of these were provided. Upon check-in, I was assigned room 164 on the first floor — no pool view, no balcony, and no sofa bed. The sofa bed advertised in the room description turned out to be nothing more than a small regular sofa, which is entirely misleading for anyone traveling with extra guests who need sleeping space. This is not about minor inconveniences — these were paid-for features that were simply not honored. If a hotel advertises specific room amenities and charges a premium for them, guests have every right to expect exactly what they booked.
I usually get the cheapest rooms, but it's pretty good. Pretty comfortable beds. The area is ok, but it was dangerous in the past. Crime is down in the area, but it might just be because of winter. It's close to all public transportation and close to many restaurants. Rideshare Driver's are always in the area also.
Standard good hotel. Good security. Just not a great location through no fault of their own. It's too bad Oakland needs sooooo much security to keep guests safe.
I stay weekly at Marriott property and this was without a doubt the worst experience. Tv was broken -unable to watch at all. Room was not clean including shower and carpet needs to be replaced(gross). The only positive was staff at desk(rosie) and cafe were very nice but never again.
Marriott quality and service. Front desk service was awesome. Convenient location near Oakland airport and near Colossium BART station, takes 30min to downtown San Francisco.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and communication at this Courtyard. I booked a stay for Oct 28th back in mid-October (Total: $277.35 for 2 rooms/night). Despite my confirmation not listing the rooms as non-refundable, and being verbally told that I would be refunded by staff a week prior to the stay, I am still waiting for the refunded money nearly two months later. I have been told multiple times that a manager is 'looking into it,' yet my follow-ups on 12/8, 12/11, and 12/22 have gone completely ignored—even though I can see the emails have been opened. My company is trying to close out the year, and the silence from this hotel is really disappointing. If you value customer service and financial transparency, stay elsewhere. There are plenty of other options nearby that actually respond to their guests.
Only good for a night. Their equipment was stolen, so no TV channels and no internet. The outdoor pool area is basically an oversized outdoor smoke area with a pool. Wreaks of Marijuana continuously. Employees stand in the hallways and gossip and could care less about trying to help guests. Best for a flight cancelation, don't expect much, because the could care less.
